Armed robbery at Shorewell

POLICE are investigating after a man brandishing a knife robbed a Shorewell chemist around 2pmthis afternoon.

One man with a face covering entered the store with a knife and demanded drugs while another waited outside.

The man with the knife took as many prescription drugs as he could carry, Detective Senior Sergeant David Chapman of Burnie CIB said.

The pair were last seen on foot behind the Shorewell Plaza in a park.

One man is described by police as 5 ft 10 in height, unshaven and wearing a dark coloured hoodie jacket and oversized trackpants with a black beanie with a peak.

The other man was wearing a hoodie.

Police are continuing to investigate.
