A VEHICLE containing prescription medication was stolen while its owners were visiting relatives at Dubbo this week.

Matt Leggatt, who lives in Ulladulla, said he was alarmed to find his ute missing from the Merrilea Road residence when members of the household woke early Thursday morning.

Not only had an intruder or intruders entered the house to grab the vehicle’s keys from a bench, he said, but they had made off with his wife’s medication, which was inside the vehicle.

“She’s on dialysis and we have had to put a call in today to get some more supplies,” he said.

The thief or thieves had damaged the garden bed as they manoeuvred the vehicle out of the yard, Mr Leggatt said.

“It’s a semi-rural area and they’ve come right down the driveway to get it (the vehicle),” he said.

“My father got up about 5am and may have heard vehicles out the front, it could have gone missing about that time, but it’s hard to say if that was ours.”

The vehicle also contained equipment the couple had packed as they were on their way to cater for a shearing crew in Tibooburra.

“There was a big Esky and toolbox with about a thousand bucks worth of tools in the back,” he said.

“We just want our gear back, so to the people that have it I’d just say please leave it where it is, don’t damage it.”
