South West Football League aims for fifth consecutive Landmark title

The South West Football League is looking to make it five consecutive Landmark Country Football Championship titles this weekend. Pictured is last year’s winning team.Despite a strong showing in game one, the South West Football League was unable to carry their momentum and went down to a spirited Upper Great Southern Football League squad in game two on their schedule.

The South West posted just one goal, coming from the boot of Kane Bumann, as they went down 1.3.9 to 3.9.27.

Brett Hill, Matthew Guimelli and Aaron Dow all scored goals for the UGSFL.

Jace Cormack booted five goals to lead the South West to victory in the Landmark Country Football Championships opener.

His best on ground performance saw the green and gold off to the perfect start for the carnival, as theydominated Avon Football Association 12.5.77 to 3.3.21.

The SWFL’s strict defense and dominant midfield kept AFA to no goals in the second half.

Graham Jetta and Hamish Shepheard put in standout performances.
